Anna Baltzer is an award-winning lecturer, author, and organizer for freedom, justice, and equality for the Palestinian people. She is Director of Organizing & Advocacy at the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights and has appeared on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Kelly File, and at the Oxford Union, and been quoted in the New York Times, Associated Press, Washington Post, LA Times, Guardian, Al Jazeera, Business Insider, Australian, Huffington Post, Jewish Daily Forward, Ha’aretz, Jerusalem Post, and beyond. Baltzer has lectured at more than 500 universities, churches, parliaments, and policy institutes on five continents with her presentation and film, “Life in Occupied Palestine: Eyewitness Stories & Photos” and book “Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories,” which she authored as a volunteer with the International Women’s Peace Service in the West Bank. Baltzer has contributed to various other books on the subject, including “Shifting Sands: Jewish Women Confront the Israeli Occupation,” “Letters from Palestine: Palestinians Speak Out about Their Lives, Their Country, and the Power of NonViolence,” “Breakthrough: Transforming Fear into Compassion — A New Perspective on the Israel-Palestine Conflict,” and “Beyond Tribal Loyalties: Personal Stories of Jewish Peace Activists.”
In 2009, Baltzer received the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee’s Annual Rachel Corrie Peace & Justice Award and a Certificate of Commendation from the Governor of Wisconsin for her commitment to justice in the Holy Land. In 2011, she received the Inspiration for Hope Award from the American Friends Service Committee, along with author and Pulitzer Prize Winner Alice Walker and others. Baltzer lives in St. Louis, Missouri and was an active supporter of the Ferguson Uprisings. She organizes locally with the St. Louis Anti-Racism Committee, St. Louis Palestine Solidarity Committee, and St. Louis Jewish Voice for Peace. She’s also a mother of two.
