Bill has been active in Palestine Solidarity work since 2009 when he endorsed the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israeli universities. In January, 2012, he was part of a USACBI delegation to the West Bank. In 2013, Bill was active in the campaign within the American Studies Association that successfully passed a resolution to boycott Israeli universities. Since 2010, he has been faculty adviser to Purdue Students for Justice in Palestine.
In 2016, he co-edited, with Ashley Dawson, Against Apartheid: The Case for Boycotting Israeli Universities. His writing on BDS and Palestine has appeared in Electronic Intifada, Mondoweiss, Social Text, Jadaliyya and the International Socialist Review.
